A huge congratulations to the third member of 4b to receive their Achieve badge this term! You have worked very hard this term to be a great role model and achieve the autumn targets for Year 4!
It was such a proud moment to award an open, grow, believe pin on Friday morning! A huge congratulations to this member of 4b, who since September has taken on board the school ethos and understands what it means to be part of Brooklands Farm. He has really grown in confidence since joining us and it is so lovely to see him forming strong friendships and feeling settled into his new school!
Well done!
We had great fun igniting our pirate project, the children showed fantastic learning zones throughout the day and their was a lovely buzz of excitement! We started the day with a treasure hunt to find a diary entry from a cabin boy, we will be exploring this further in literacy and having a go at writing our own! We moved on to make some musical instruments and then learnt lots about who pirates are!! We are looking forward to linking sound with our pirate project and will keep the website updated with celebrations of their learning!
Well done 4b for everything you achieved last year, we are so proud of each and every one of you!
Before we left for the summer we could already see that you were ready to face the next steps of your learning journey as individuals. Don’t forget to keep an open mindset and stay connected so that you can continue to achieve great things.
Good luck everyone!
Mrs Francis & Miss Downey
(p.s. we might have moved downstairs but please still come and share your learning with us!)
As we were so inspired by the mosaics we saw on our trip to the Verulamium we decided to create our very own for Brooklands!
On Wednesday an artist came to school to help us make a piece of history for the school, which will last for years and remind us of our core values, Open, Grow and Believe. Here are some sneak previews of the children’s amazing work…
Today Fatuma was awarded her ‘Achieve’ pin!
Since the start of Year 4 Fatuma has continued to grow her learning and keep an open mindset. She is becoming a resilient learner and has shown her determination to grow her learning, particularly in handwriting and presentation.
Well done Fatuma! Keep up the hard work.
…who will be next?
Congratulations to everyone in 4b!
After much hard work and dedication to improving our presentation, every child has now been awarded a handwriting pen! We are continuing to work hard this week in order to share our wonderful work in the Tree Week display.
Well done everyone, keep up the great work!
Year 4 today shared their incredible learning with their parents as they invited them into their living tomb. The children first had the problem of trying to entice their parents into the tomb and began by reading their persuasions to them. Some parents seemed hard to win over but the children managed to wow them with their vocabulary and their ideas.
After this, the parents were able to look at some of the Egyptian artefacts that the children had created across the project and were able to meet two embalmers giving a demonstration of mummification as one of our children became a real life mummy.
The tomb and persuasions were well received and the children created a fantastic show, explaining all of their knowledge that they had learnt over the last 4 and a half weeks.
