Nursery want to thank all our parents for attending our Songs Around The Christmas Tree Christmas Play. Across both school sites, we had 97% attendance from the parents which was incredible, not to mention all the grandparents, aunties, brothers and sisters that joined us too. It was wonderful to see the children so happy to share their singing with you, not a single tear was shed!

We also had 13 children that had 100% attendance at Nursery last term. With all the coughs and colds that go round in Winter, this is really something to celebrate. We can tell you are loving coming to school!

Year 5&6 Football Tournament

11th December 2018Mrs J Gowen
On Friday the Year 5 & 6 football team took part in a tournament at the MK Dons Dome with several other schools involved.
The team played well in their first 4 games managing 2 wins, 1 draw and a loss. As the group was so fiercely contested we knew we needed a big win in our last game.  In order to qualify out of the group in 2nd place and reach the finals held in January, we would need a big win in our last game.
The game started at a fast pace and within a minute Brooklands Farm were ahead thanks to a long range shot. We continued to dominate and towards the end of the game we found ourselves 4-0 up. We had given ourselves a chance but we still believed we needed more goals. As we were pushing forward we were caught on the break and the opposition were awarded a penalty. The opposition’s player missed the target. The referee then blew his whistle. Brooklands Farm had won 4-0, but was it enough?
All the teams sat down and awaited the results.
We were then informed by the organisers how close it was. Emerson Valley and ourselves were joint on points and goal difference but the deciding factor was goals scored. Amazingly by winning 4-0 we had finished 2nd and gone through, by just a single goal!
If we had conceded that last minute penalty we would have been eliminated and finished 3rd.
This was a great achievement from the team and we look forward to the finals in January!

Big Win at Stantonbury Basketball Competition

5th December 2018Mrs J Gowen

On Thursday 29th November a mixed team of Year 5 and 6 children travelled to Stantonbury to take part in an inter school basketball competition. They played a total of 6 games, all lasting 7 minutes.  Of these 6 games, they won 5 in succession only narrowly losing the last game by 1 point. As a result, their team finished top and they were declared winners of the competition!

All of the children who took part showed an outstanding display of teamwork and individual talent in what was a fantastic evening of team sports. In addition, Brooklands Farm received extra praise from all the referees helping out in the event, saying how well they all played together. A massive congratulations to all of these children who took part.

5A opening our dialogue and sharing with the community!

By l hearn9th November 2018

It has been amazing to see so much enthusiasm from all of 5A this week! They have been really inspired by their learning and have learnt so much! This afternoon was a chance for us to open our doors to the community and be proud of all the learning we have achieved this week. Every child has taken part in history, art and writing activities that they have made individual to them. They all loved sharing their learning and knowledge with others, particularly family members so thank you all for your participation! Well done for all your hard work 5A!
