Year 2 had a fantastic day playing in the sandpit and eating ice cream! We made lots of sandcastles and dug some very big holes!
Many classes have been experiencing ‘Bubbleology’ as part of our Big Questions in Science.
As teachers we’ve seen incredibly high learning zones and wellbeing because we are providing lifelong learning experiences for the children.
As part of our Fun Science Friday, year 3/4 took part in bubbleology. As you can see, the children were showing incredibly high learning zones and everyone left on a well being 5. Helping children to be excited about Science is so important to me and practical experiments help to create lifelong learning experiences.
Year 1D have made a super start to their Lanyard Learning this week! Taking big steps towards becoming independent learners in charge of their own work. It’s also amazing to see so many determined individuals achieving those high learning zones!
Keep up the fantastic work 🙂

The children went back in time today, learning about life on board Titanic. Their project was ignited through dressing as third and first class passengers, cooking a third class meal and sampling first class food.
Good morning!
It was fantastic to see so many children coming to school in their summer gear this morning ready to ignite our Lighthouse project!
Ignite has begun!! Class 2a are currently making seagulls, 2b are enjoying a sensory experience of sand and water while 2c are making a collage Mr and Mrs Grinling!
We are looking forward to our ice cream treat after lunch!

Children across the school are working really hard and creating wonderful art for entry in the National Galleries Take one Picture. Inspired by the Gainsborough painting Mr and Mrs Andrews, children were asked what the story of Brooklands Farm was…past, present and future. They have worked with oil pastels, acetate, watercolours and collage to produce these colourful images. We’ll be submitting the final piece in the next few weeks and will keep you posted on our progress!
We are all looking forward to seeing Year 2 in their beach wear for the ignite of our Lighthouse project. If the weather is bad please wear warm clothes over the top.
We have lots of fun activities prepared which includes a sensory experience in sand and water, making seagulls and lighthouses for our project area. We will also get to try some ice cream!
Looking forward to it! From Mr Morrison, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Shields

Welcome back to children joining us from Fenn Street and welcome to those who are new to our Brooklands family.
What a super start to the year! Year 2 are showing brilliant signs of calm. We have lots of high well-being. Well done 2D!
This half term our PE days are Thursday (indoor PE) and Friday (Outdoor). Please make sure children have suitable clothing such as a tracksuit ready for the colder weather including trainers or plimsolls. Please ensure that ALL items of clothing are named to minimise the risk of lost belongings.
Thank you for your support and please come and say hello so I can get to know you!

Unfortunately, Miss Fowler has been having trouble posting to our website.
She says…
Hello 3A,
I am very pleased to say that we have all made a great start to Year 3. We have started our Year 3 learning journeys together and I am excited to see how they continue to develop.
Everyone has settled back in to routine and the expectations of the classroom extremely well and I am absolutely loving those ‘gotcha smiles’ you are bringing with you each day. I have already seen glimmers of balance shining through and I am looking forward to working together to develop this further.
There are some fantastic reciprocal relationships growing in the classroom and we are always trying to build our team work skills.
I hope you are as excited as I am to start our Rainforest project and to continue our learning journeys together.
